JEE Mains Last 30 Days: The Only Plan You Need

A week-by-week breakdown of exactly what to study in the last 30 days before JEE Mains. Based on toppers' strategies — covers Physics, Chemistry and Maths priorities.

The last 30 days before JEE Mains are the most valuable — and most wasted — period for most students.

Here's how to use them properly.

The Core Principle: Revise, Don't Learn New Topics

At this stage, picking up a new chapter is a mistake. Your time is worth more on:

  1. Revising chapters where you score 60–70% (take them to 85%)
  2. Doing full-length mocks under timed conditions
  3. Fixing silly mistakes (most students lose 20–30 marks this way)

Week 1 (Day 1–7): High-Weightage Chapter Blitz

Focus only on these high-weightage topics:

Physics (focus here):

  • Electrostatics + Current Electricity (combined ~15% of paper)
  • Modern Physics (consistent 3–4 questions every year)
  • Optics (always 1–2 numerical)
  • Kinematics & Laws of Motion (direct formula questions)

Chemistry:

  • Organic reactions (named reactions + mechanism understanding)
  • p-block elements (12th) — most predictable marks
  • Coordination compounds
  • Electrochemistry

Mathematics:

  • Calculus (Limits, Derivatives, Integration) — 8–10 marks guaranteed
  • Coordinate Geometry (Circle + Parabola)
  • Probability & Statistics
  • Matrices & Determinants

Topper tip: Solve only the LAST 5 years' JEE Mains PYQs for these chapters. The question types repeat more than most students realize.

Week 2 (Day 8–14): Mock Test + Analysis Loop

Start taking 1 full mock test every day or every other day.

After each mock, do this:

  1. Mark every wrong answer ❌
  2. Mark every "lucky guess" ⚠️
  3. For each ❌ and ⚠️, identify: was it a concept gap or a careless mistake?
  4. Spend 1 hour the next morning fixing only those gaps

The goal: Your mock score should improve by 10–15 marks by end of Week 2 purely from fixing careless mistakes.

Week 3 (Day 15–21): Subject-Wise Deep Fix

Based on your mock test pattern, you should now know your weakest subject. Spend this week giving it extra time.

Common patterns:

Weak AreaFix
Organic ChemistryLearn named reactions as "story chains" not isolated facts
IntegrationPractice 20 different integral types with a timer
Electrostatics numericalsDraw diagrams for EVERY problem — most mistakes are visualization errors

Week 4 (Day 22–29): Taper and Lock In

  • 1 mock every 2 days (don't exhaust yourself)
  • Revise your formula sheet — spend 30 min morning and evening
  • Focus on speed: time each subject section separately
  • Sleep 7 hours minimum — sleep-deprived brains make 3× more careless errors

Day 30: Exam Eve

  • Do not study new material. Read your notes only.
  • Solve 10–15 easy problems to warm up your brain — stop before getting tired
  • Prepare your admit card, ID, stationery the night before
  • Sleep by 10:30 PM

Formula Sheet: Build This Now

Make a single A4 sheet (front + back) covering:

  • All Physics formulas from high-weightage chapters
  • Key organic reactions and reagents
  • Integration standard forms + tricks
  • Matrices shortcuts

Read it every morning and night for the next 30 days. By exam day, it'll be automatic.

What NOT to Do

  • Don't start new books or modules
  • Don't compare your mock scores with friends
  • Don't skip sleep to study more — it backfires
  • Don't take full days off — even 2 hours keeps your momentum

You've put in months of work. These 30 days are about converting preparation into marks. Stay calm, stay consistent.

You've got this. 🚀
